Esce oggi “Wire”, il primo brano tratto dal nuovo album di Torba, in uscita all’inizio del 2025.
Il produttore italiano (alias Luigi Pianezzola) e musicista in tour con i The Soft Moon realizza brani di elettronica spigolosa che attingono dal punk, dall’industrial e dalla musica da club, pur mantenendo una grinta moderna propria e creando un suono distinto e distruttivo.
La canzone è un’oscura inversione di un brano dance, ispirata alle notti selvagge in cui Pianezzola si ritrovava:
“Stavo pensando a quanto tempo ho passato in un club in una situazione super profonda. Mi chiedevo perché lo facessi – e poi lo facevo di nuovo”
Torba traduce questa attrazione per l’edonismo con un lirismo misterioso e minimale, con la voce nascosta dietro gli effetti (“Lo perderò quando sarà il momento / Sono qui e non mi importa”).
Il brano è stato scritto da Pianezzola col produttore Maurizio Baggio (The Soft Moon, Boy Harsher).
Il video è stato diretto da Jacopo Dall’Agnol, che spiega:
“’WIRE’ fa parte di una trilogia di video in cui, attraverso l’uso dell’intelligenza artificiale, abbiamo dato vita a inquietanti visioni gastronomiche. Come in una copertina dell’indimenticabile serie ‘Goosebumps’, i nostri piatti prendono vita, diventano volti antropomorfi e cantano nevroticamente parole che non conoscono. La scelta dei piatti e l’estetica adottata si ispirano ai libri di cucina e alle pubblicità televisive degli anni ’80 e ’90, contribuendo ulteriormente a immergere lo spettatore nelle inquietanti atmosfere di Torba”.
